I am nearing completion of a project to implement a number of updated Oracle infrastructure products for a client. This has taken some time with a few disruptions and resourcing issues, I am glad I wasn't the PM.

We have but in place Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 and 10.1.3, Oracle Internet Directory (OID)  for client systems as a naming system and Enterprise Manager Grid Control to monitor and Manage all the Oracle Infrastructure. It is highly scalable with both the databases and the Application Server middleware, identity management and portal are in place as well as SOA basics to deliver applications as services on the platform

We have a number of projects that will spin off, namely migrating Forms and Reports applications, J2EE applications, Discoverer Users and existing databases for other applications to 10G database. There is one to migrate ONAMES to OID

As the technical lead on the project I have had some interesting challenges with dealing with people and the product and getting some of the product working in a Veritas High Availability solution. But at the end of the day I think the customer is getting what they had wished for and have a solid platform to deliver the existing applications and new ones.

See ya round

Peter
